Ugh Quora is overrun by overzealous JW who think the internet is their preaching ground. Some of them are really, really Fing obnoxious.
Won't be long before I quit the whole site.
my quora campaign of answering all jw related questions truthfully with evidence is going well.
however, one jw had the audacity to claim that "jws do not shun".
they seem to want to present a fake, squeeky clean image to non-members and seem to get angry when answering questions regarding shunning.. like this asshole, dennis cybulski.

I heard this very same illustration at the international convention in Dortmund 2009. Also by Geoffrey Jackson. Back then I was quite touched by the illustration lol.
I guess he noticed this thing works well in keeping folks attached and donating a bit longer, and he's recycling it.
this is my 192nd post, so i thought it'd be fitting to ask a somewhat banal question which i've occasionally pondered over the years.
does anyone know what's behind the wt's penchant for 192-page books?
is there some kind of logistical reason for this?

i hope someone could find an english translation.
i have no time at the moment..
To clarify: these comments are about the DA offices in several regions investigating individual cases where victims pressed charges against their abusers. The context of the abuse (JW community) will be taken into account during the investigations
This is not an investigation into the JW organisation.
well today marks the beginning and biggest day of our protest at the london excel.. we believe it's a record number at around 100 exjws at the front door.. we spoke to lots of jw's and one young man studying who has quit after talking to us.
we've been approached privately by jw's who thanked us for coming and the security at the event treated us very well.. if anyone wants to see some clips they are available on my channel the great apostate.. thanks to all for the support and love..
@Simon
I agree. Google search volume doesn't necessarily indicate traffic to jwfacts either.
The only way to have definitive numbers is to get them from jwfacts.com.
But while the trends don't tell us what the actual volumes are, or whether people really visited jwfacts, the spikes indicate that the protest has made some people curious enough to do some googling.

@morpheus,
Afaik the graph doesn't show absolute number of hits, but a percentage.
Which means during the convention days the UK googled for "jwfacts" about twice as often as before.
That could mean 2 hits instead of 1, or 1000 instead of 500.
At least there was a 100% increase in interest in "jwfacts"
Edit: here's a link that explains those graphs a bit https://www.quora.com/How-do-you-interpret-Google-Trendss-search-volume-index

Google trends for the search term "jwfacts" in the UK only.
First image is last twelve months, second image is last 7 days.
Guess what the faithful were doing after convention day ended?
i was just browsing the russian jw site and saw this image that appears to represent christian persecution by showing handcuffs in front of prison bars that appear to form a cross.
which would be weird because they don't even believe in the cross, or maybe it was clip art from another source and they didn't notice.
or last and most likely i'm seeing things that aren't there 😜.
Jw always tout how much attention they give to details when in comes to their imagery. They claim to research everything about it. The images in their study WT are also crafted very meticulously to convey hidden rules and guilt in the smallest details.
I wouldn't put it past them to select an image that resembles a cross on purpose. Most JW will never notice and otherwise it can be denied....and to (other) Christians the image will subconsciously make them feel more connected to the topic....
But there's a big gap between 'wouldn't put it past them' and 'I think they did'...

But then I dropped the issue, despite the efforts of Jehovah's Witnesses’ public relations people to keep me focused on it.
Interesting. Apparently JW representatives actively approach media to get and keep their struggles in Russia in the spot light of attention.
Telling the people how persecuted they are. Trying to gain sympathy with the people and maybe governments.
I guess they prefer that over being in the media for child abuse issues.
For one thing is sure: JW don't give a rat's ass about freedom of religion, as long as they aren't restricted themselves. And even then they will pretend they're the only ones to be persecuted.
even if the world and organization(not for better,)change a lot from the 80s.
the watchtower articles seem exactly like the one we study in the ,80s.
there's a zombie feeling to them.
The schedule for the late Theorcratic Ministry School has been rerun for decades. I think it was a 2 year repeat cycle.
I guess they lacked inspiration. :-p
